It was an excellent decision to leave Collier-Seminole early.
Club Naples was a lovely RV park that had the most gorgeous bathrooms I’ve seen so far. At first it looks like granite counters and travertine tile with walnut doors on each stall. Upon closer inspection (yes, the interior designer in me had to take a closer look) the granite was actually a laminate with a textured finish that resembled granite’s sparkle. The doors were just builder’s grade louvered pine doors stained walnut. The travertine was just a builder’s grade stock tile. The combined effect was beautifully executed on a small budget. Well done.
The wistful longing on the eyes of the residents missing their grandkids was clear.
They had karioke at the pool for 3 hours which entertained Divagirl and she even got some invites to join them. I think ours are the only kids in the place.
There was an ice cream social followed by “gator races”, which were too intriguing to miss. Turns out they aren’t live alligators but wooden ones that someone moves when dice are rolled. Its a gambling game and the residents got really into it! On the way back to Edelweiss we stopped to watch a Petanque game in play. All the players were speaking French which was great for the kids to hear it being spoken. (We just started French I in September with Mr T and Mr S.) It also reminded me of how rusty I was. I understood about 30% of what they said.
The focus was on catching up on school, work and laundry so I didn’t really think to take any pictures. Here is one of the pool and club house from our site.
