This is a fantastic resort, with fantastic amenities and well manicured park grounds – a place we’d definitely visit again.
It is situated in Byron, NY just west of Rochester and an easy drive to Gates/Chili; there are very few RV parks near Rochester. Generally you are limited to this one west of Rochester or one in Canandaigua which is south east of Rochester.
The majority of the spaces are year round occupants but the spaces for transients are nice shady generous spaces with complete hookups, a picnic table and a fire ring. We got a couple nice days during our stay but most days had stormy weather so the table and fire ring were unused. We often find even on the nice days its too buggy to eat outdoors. And fires are nice but s’mores are for campers not full-timers :)
There are two pools, one which was heated, and an enormous play area with lots of different activities for kids. Laundry was affordable (finally!) and the bathrooms were clean. The people we met were really nice too.
When I was 2 or 3 my family used to live in Byron and I sought out my old house which was just a few rural blocks away. I don’t remember much about it, but I have one memory of an autumn where we were outside raking leaves and our dog wanted to be out with us so she jumped through the plate glass window. That’s about it.
