Meetup at the Park

Such a beautiful day to spend hanging out with new friends! We were fortunate enough to have two full-time (RV) families not too far away, who were game enough to meet us at a park that we could bike to.

It was a nice park, although it was right next to the water treatment plant and every so often the stench of sewer odors would waft in our direction. Mmmmmmm! But the other 98% of the time, it was lovely.

The kids spent 3 hours running amuck, which, for people living full-time in close quarters, is priceless.

Pre-Rally Events

So we are here in Live Oak, FL for the Fulltime Families Rally that starts Thursday, and we’ve met some great people and Divagirl is in her element with kids to play with everywhere you look! I’ve had some wonderful one-on-one chats with some ladies and found several things in common including a fellow Downton Abbey fan.

During the day the adults are chatting and the kids are running a muck through the wilderness. At night there’s usually a bonfire that the grown-ups hang out at while the kids watch a movie projected on a sheet hung in the nearby pavilion.

Spirit of Suwannee Music Park

We got here early for the rally so we could settle in a bit. January has been so busy we’ve just needed to stay in one place for a while. This place is enormous! I haven’t had a chance to explore yet, but the boys have made it to the river to try for fish.

We were pretty far away from everyone else who was also here early. But one of Divagirl’s BFFs was already here so we walked the half mile to go see them. Unfortunately they were napping so we walked back and met another family on the way home. Their daughter was 10 but that was good enough for Divagirl so she had an instant playmate and persisted upon them for several hours. She even got to go to the store and scored some Cheetos and a Yoohoo. What can I say, she’s knows how to work it!
