The Day After

This morning we woke up early and packed up in preparation for checkout so that we could go out to breakfast with some of the families that were still here. Most everyone has a vehicle with them (except us) so they got ready to leave but didn’t have to drag their whole rig with them. I’m starting to rethink not bringing a car with us.

We descended upon the Waffle House in Live Oak and had a tasty, yet greasy, breakfast served up with a side of Southern hospitality. The theme was jammies and pigtails so that should explain the attire of some. It was still early for us…not quite 10.

Fulltime Families Rally – Final Day

Well, it’s a wrap!

Today is the final day of the rally, although it’s really acting as a day to decompress and chill out before getting back on the road tomorrow.

Some families are leaving today, with a handful of others, including us, departing tomorrow morning.

This was our first rally, and most definitely won’t be our last. It’s been crazy fun, and it was fantastic meeting everyone and their kids, and making new friends ― I’m sure we’ll meet again on our travels.

I’ll be honest, I’m hoping we have one more bonfire tonight for those of us hanging around, muahaha!

Thanks everyone for being awesome, safe travels, and we’ll hopefully cross paths again soon.

Fulltime Families Rally – Day Three

Ever since we started traveling, our schedule has gradually shifted to being more relaxed. I used to wake around 5a, I’d work until around 6p, then stay up until 11p’ish, and then repeat the next day.

Now we (the adults) find ourselves going to bed a little later, and waking a little later. Lately, we’ve been waking around 9a, and we’ll be ready for the day around 10a — woohoo!

This morning, the first event of the day was a casual presentation/breakfast, at 10:30a about boondocking with Marianne Edwards and her husband Randy. They’re the operators of www.frugal-rv-travel.com and the creators of the RV bookdocking travel guides. Overall, it was interesting stuff, and we’ve added boondocking to our list of to-dos for this year.

Fulltime Families Rally – Day Two

Today started out with a bunch of folks who just can’t get enough of their apps :)  We brought our breakfast and sat around sharing our favorite apps for learning, entertainment and anything else noteworthy.

Afterwards, we went for a bike ride to explore the rest of the park. It was still pretty empty, however, they were starting to set up for a Disc Golf Tournament this weekend — and at the boys behest, we stopped by the General Store to pick up some hot dog buns for fish bait.

Fulltime Families Rally – Day One

Today we gained several new families both late last night and very early this morning. More names to learn! I am doing pretty well with the ones I’ve learned so far. One family has 10 kids with them and I’ve managed to remember about 75% of them, that’s pretty good for me.

We all checked in around 1:30 and my job was to write up name tags for everyone. Perfect, more practice.

There are so many families here, its fantastic!

After the welcome, the kids made little autograph books so they can keep in touch with their new friends. Then later, they tye-dyed t-shirts. The weather was gorgeous today, too.
